I pressed up a limited run of CDs for this album since it was so successful in digital form. The CDs are very bare bones (e.g. no track list) and thus a bit cheaper than my other CDs.

about
After all this pseudo-intellectual abstract poetry, it'd be nice to finish strong with some boom bap.
lyrics
On a blank slate with a finishing touch.
Put aside the limitations put inside human nature’s
Drawing board to draw us toward
The middle of the pack, diminishing the fact
We begin to expand as individuals and finish with collapse
Into a mass of outsiders staring in
I draw a line in the sand, not a comparison
To anybody cherishing the artificial defects
Incorporate flaws into your reflex
Each step in any quadrant of the compass
Comes as comfort for the bullies in bedrock
Map my movements according to coordinates
To obtain the skeleton key for any deadlocked argument.
On a blank slate with a finishing touch.
It’s horse play with a pony tail
I’m gulping holy blood from a holy grail
Getting minimum wage to post bail while the only stale
Mate- beholds a pale horse bout as fresh as a rotten apple
A lot of battles are fruitless
I only wage wars that reveal what the truth is
So who’s this satisfied with just fifty percent
I guarantee that you’ll miss the intent
Pitching a tent over violence and voyeurism
You can see the swords are swinging, but something’s missing
Forget a listen that doesn’t result in heard you
I heard you counting sheep beyond the curfew.
The words you use sound eerily familiar
At some counterpoint, I’mma pin point their origin
Until then, failure is a filter
For the rain water falling down and pouring in
I got water on the brain and nothing in mind
Besides slashing prices and budgeting time
An hour late for sour grapes and funneling wine
Into the blind children with the sun in their eyes
I’m not sure how much clearer I can make it
I feel what I feel and I feel the need to say it
Patient- my skeleton key is beginning to cut
The drawing board for the finishing touch.
My skeleton is beginning to touch
The drawing board with the finishing touch.

A friend of mine back in 2004 pointed me to this track and I was mesmerized. Been a huge Illogic fan ever since! Very nostalgic listening to this again presently. I would love to get this album in vinyl record to add to my collection. :) fyrin

I have been listening to variations of this album a long time. I remember I was living in a cardboard dumpster when some young guy was like yo dude it's gonna rain come crash on my couch. He played The Many Faces of Oliver Hart for me. I fell in love, I set my favorite track as Rain because we looped it when the rain came. That was one of the early acts of kindness I received in the nearly 20 years I've been homeless. @NomadRoamsFree
